Action Schmaction
Almost time to say ciao to 2003... it's been an eventful year, but honestly, I'm glad it's almost over.

Had kicked off 2003 with a *small* bang in a little dinky hotel room in Lyon with Frenje, Andrew and Shaohong. We flipped channels trying to find the New Year Countdown show, but to no avail. Finally realized that the strange French show which had people singing "One-Way Ticket" was the right one, but by that time, had almost given up on any hopes of excitedly ushering in 2003. For some reason, I distinctly remember watching Kylie Minogue on MTV right after the lame-ass New Year show. Oh well, at least the company was good. =)

Will remember this year for the following, in no particular order:
- GRADUATION!!!! (and dressing up like an M&M)
- Orrr-Chasm - MS&E 271 (yes, I'm dorky, I actually *like* my classes)
- Paul's Shrimp Pesto (yum) and Lentil Soup (yuck)
- The arrival of Junior and Junior Junior
- Doing laundry by the truckload
- Buying food by the truckload (Costco, anyone?)
- Picking up used cups and beer bottles around the apartment
- Feeding Joel, Yingjie, Frenje, Andrew and all the rest of the folks who hung out in our apartment
- Playing Monkeyball!
- Playing Monkeyball 2!
- Playing Grand Theft Auto (unfortunately)
- Making the worst char kuay teow I have ever tasted.
- Going to Greece and Turkey and living on a sailboat with my Or-Chasm travel buddies
- Drinking, singing and eating too much
- Albus Peedle Skewball
- Coming back to Singapore to realize that my life is over. (some say just beginning, but I like to look on the pessimistic side)

It's going to be hard to enjoy 2004.

I fixed the POS (definition #16, non-polite form) comment cgi script. I then proceeded to rewrite parts of it, so that it looked less turdish.

I'd appreciate any suggestions on how it can be improved.

Just saw Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. Very, very good movie :)
Like finishing a good book series, seeing the last movie is bitter-sweet: of course you love the completion of the story, but you wish there was more to come.

My only complaint is that I wish there was more explicit magic -- imagine Gandalf smiting foes with bolts of fire or energy... that, my friends, would have been far cooler -- c'mon Mr. Jackson, take some (more) artistic liberties.

Oh well...

Albus Peedle Skewball just had a little doggie dream!!!

He was moving his legs in his sleep. Adorable...

One of my favorite comics, Sinfest, has come through again with another comic that is just "so true":

Argh, hate having to type this out since I've already told this all to you over the phone, but will try. Don't want to get complaints about being a non-participatory sayang, etc. =)

Will start with an introduction of the new addition to my life, courtesy of Paul Virdone (boy, does that sound wrong!!)

Name: Albus Peedle Skewball (Skew for short)
DOB: 20th July 2003
Type: Maltese

Skew went for obedience class yesterday (for the first time), and I realized that he is a complete and total wimp.

He refused to come out of his carry case when we arrived,
Whined while we dragged him out and attached his collar to him,
Whined when any other dog came over to make friends,
Squeezed in between any available legs for comfort (sometimes mistaking *other* people's legs for mine),
Had an anxiety attack when one dog came over and sniffed at him (i.e. frantic panting, wheezing, "reverse sneezing").
Refused to walk on the leash because that meant he would be walking towards the dogs,
Ended up getting dragged around like a mop since he refused to get on his feet.

He took a whole day to recover from his traumatic experience, but his sprightly self is back again. Little does he know that he's going to have to go through this process next Sunday!

I came across this site:

Paper Craft

They have some neat paper models there, including models of a Gorilla and an Orangutan. Not like I'd ever be able to make them, or would even try, but still fun to imagine being able to make something like that.

Lookit!

I finally started my own blog!

I suppose things will change a bunch as I get everything set up the way I like it, but every journey starts with a single step -- or something, right?
